Experiences at Bonorong

Now you’ve found us, it’s time to decide what you’d like to do: join one of our free daily tours,
amble around the Sanctuary at your own pace, or for an extra-special treat,
book one of our behind-the-scenes experiences.

Sanctuary ADMISSION

Your entry fees directly fund the running of Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, as well as the operation of all of our conservation programs.

You'll be able to visit our Sanctuary for the day, see our animals, join one of the daily tours and more.

Entry includes a free bag of kangaroo food and access to our daily tours. Our roos roam free within the Sanctuary and are always keen for a good scratch on the chest and gentle hand feeding.

Prices are per person.

See a Tasmanian devil on our daily guided tours.

Full public tours are included in your entry fee and take place every day. Our keepers will take you around to the wombat, devil and echidna enclosures to provide information and an up-close experience.

Please note that sometimes our animals wish to remain hidden during the tour due to weather conditions (or just being nice and cosy in bed!). In these instances, our keepers may substitute for another of our residents.

All public tours allow visitors to see the Tassie devil and learn about their quirky personalities, as well as some of the threats they face and the efforts to help protect them.

One of our knowledgeable keepers will introduce you to some of Bonorong’s favourite species and share with you their passion and concern for Tasmanian wildlife.

Not only do we aim to entertain you, we are committed to ensuring that you leave Bonorong with the tools to help conserve Tasmania’s unique wildlife.

What can you do to reduce roadkill? Or help the Tassie devil in its fight against disease? Visitors and Tasmanians alike can play their part in looking after our wonderful creatures.

To enjoy our wildlife at your leisure, we recommend allowing an absolute minimum of one hour to wander around the Sanctuary.

Bite Size Night Tour

(Subject to availability)

The Bonorong Bite Size Night Tour is a small-group family feeding tour.  This is a taster tour to showcase the best of what our Sanctuary has to offer in a short, family-friendly timeframe.

This tour runs only from May to September.

You will enter our animals’ world and experience hand-feeding some wonderful creatures like Forester Kangaroos, Wombats and Eastern Quolls. You will also be able to help your guide feed the Tasmanian devils their dinner!

You are also going to meet some incredible survivors as many of our animals have recovered from injury or are orphans. You’ll also learn about how your visit to Bonorong is helping us help Tasmanian wildlife.

It’s going to be a journey of incredible (and often very moving) fun. A night you and your family will have to talk about for a long time.

Inspiring our future generations and creating a connection with our unique wildlife.
