Careers, Volunteering, Study &
Work Placements

Bonorong is very lucky to have a body of long-term, experienced staff which means that positions do not become available very often. However, there are other options for those wishing to become part of the Bonorong team, even if only for a short while.

14 Week Internship

In partnership with TasTAFE, Bonorong offers Certificates II in Animal Studies in the form of a 14-week internship onsite at Bonorong.

This qualification is nationally recognised and meets national animal industry standards.

Work placements /
work experience

As we run two TasTAFE courses on site already, we are unable to take on additional students for their work experience or required work placement or work experience duties.

Thank you for thinking of us!

Classroom-based learning

In partnership with TasTAFE, Bonorong offers classroom-based Certificates II and III in Animal Studies onsite at the Sanctuary.

Both qualifications are nationally recognised and meet national animal industry standards.

Wildlife Hospital opportunities

Our wildlife hospital opened in early 2018, however we are still a few years away from being able to accept students, volunteers or trainees.

We will update our website when this option becomes available.

Long term single volunteers and one-off (or returning!) groups of volunteers are more than welcome at the Sanctuary.

There are plenty of jobs to go around, but please be aware that there is no animal interaction.

Career Opportunities

When we do have positions available within the Sanctuary, we advertise them on our blog and on our
Facebook page

Keep an eye out on these pages - they come up rarely and often close quickly!

We do not keep resumes on file.
